Located in Gujarat, Ranchhodraiji Dakor Temple is previously famous for Shiva worship. It became a center for the Vaishnavites when Ranchhodraiji, another Krishna avatar, surfaced. It is one of the most important temples of Gujarat ethnically.

During this visit, you will explore the RANCHODDRAI TEMPLE in Gujarat. This temple is located near the bank of the Gomati River. It was built in the 18th century and the structure of the temple is made of marble. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ranchhodrai (Lord Krishna) and there is a one meter long statue of Lord Ranchhodrai. The temple is beautifully decorated with a wooden sculpture covered with gold and silver.

Meaning of Ranchhodraiji Temple

One of the most visited temples is the RANCHODDRAI TEMPLE in Gujarat, dedicated to Lord Krishna, also called Ranchhod. The temple is made of red stone and has wonderful sculptures on its walls. You will also notice beautiful filigree works on the stones that make up the temple. The idol of Lord Krishna is made of black marble stone. The front door of the temple is beautifully decorated with stained glass of different colors including yellow, blue and green glass windows. It is an outstanding feature of the temple that makes it even more attractive to visitors. The splendor of this famous temple attracts tourists from all over. This sacred sanctuary is an exquisite example of the beautiful work of art made by the artisans of the bygone era, which describes the talent we had in our country at that time.

Puja Timing And Bhoga

Normally in the morning The Dakor Temple opens at around 6am and closes at noon. There are five darshans in between during which Aartis are executed, namely Mangalabhog, Balbhog, Srinagarbhog, Gwalbhog and Rajbhog.

At 4 p.m it reopens and closes at 07:00. Usthapanbhog, Shyanbhog and Shakhdibhog; there are three darshans in between. In Utthapana Bhoga and Shayana bhoga are interpreted as Aaratis.

On full moon days, the RANCHODDRAI TEMPLE Darshan is different and is previously declared by the temple authorities. Approximately seven thousand rupees a day is the Bhogas worth offered to the deity and are taken over by sevakas (priests) who provide prasad for pilgrims and worshipers.

Except the registered groups, who wish to offer additional bhogs to the deity for the convenience of the Vaishnavas, there is a provision in the diagram of the Dakor Temple and, Mahabhog, Rajbhog and additional boghons are offered to the divinity accordingly.

The trustee can receive prasad except Rajbhog, for all these additional Bhogs, through the Dakor Sansthan Trust. It is the oldest Bhog of the temple when the Deity Shree Ranchhodraiji was installed in this temple; when the Pran Pratishtha was executed.

Festivals celebrated in Ranchodraiji

At the Dakor Temple, approximately 35 festivals are celebrated. The main ones are Kartik, Falgun, Chaitra and Ashwin Purnimas. More than 1,000 worshipers visit the shrine. The first day of the year is Annakoot. Shri Ranchhodraiji offers the largest number of pastries and meal preparation products in this festival.
The festivities of Vaishnava celebrated are Holi, Amalaka Ekadashi, Janmashtami, Nand Mahotsav, Rathyatra and Dashera. The Sevakas take the idol of Krishna in procession on an elephant during these feasts. The ardent devotees also play music to the rhythm.
